Battle to bring Evia wildfires under control boosted by crews from other countries and volunteers
Teams of firefighters and residents on the Greek island of Evia are tonight finally beginning to bring the wildfires under control.

But at the same time, in the south-western region of Peloponnese, villages are being evacuated, as more fires break out there.
Firefighters have been sent to help from Europe and the Middle East, and joined by volunteers from across Greece, amid the worst wildfires the country has seen for 45 years.
