Here’s the problem: 80% of registered voters didn’t vote Labour. Only 20% did – and not every single Labour voter supports this bill. Pretending it’s a universal mandate is spin at best, deception at worst.
Meanwhile, payrolls are down for the 7th month in a row, businesses are struggling to hire, and the cost of employing staff is skyrocketing. Without employers, there are no workers. Yet this bill piles more pressure onto businesses already on the brink.
And it’s being championed by Bridget Phillipson – a career politician who’s never had a proper job outside of Westminster. Labour is run by MPs who have no experience in the real economy, and it shows.
