Pineapple Twist Patterned Beanie Tutorial | 🍍 Sentro 48 | Circular Knitting Machines (Short Version)

🍍How to make an intricately patterned beanie on your Sentro 48 or any other 48 needle knitting machine. 🍍After watching videos from Karen @ myAddi and Leonid @ Addi Express Tricks and Discoveries, I tried the techniques out on the Sentro 48.
The stitches translated differenty due mainly to the 2 needle difference (I suspect), but I just love it. "A Happy Accident" as Bob Ross used to say.

Circular Knitting Machine Hat Pattern
on a 48 Needle Sentro

1. Cast on normally over and under and knit 65 rows of plain knitting
2. Starting at needle 1 remove yarn from feeder and manually start wrapping 2 needles around the back around the front and around the back again crank to knit those needles, then put the yarn under the next single needle as it rises to knit ONE stitch as normal, carry on like this around the row until you get back to needle 1 (Wrap 2 knit 1 etc)
3. Do step 2 for 22 rows (without needing to remove yarn as you already have this in hand)
4. At row 23 the stitch wrap/knit changes. At needle 1 start by wrapping 2 needles crank to knit them, and then as the next 2 needles rise wrap them and so on for the complete row, stopping at needle 48 (no single knit stitch now)
5. Thread yarn back into feeder and slowly knit one full normal row and then another normal row stopping at needle 46 (Watch for dropped stitches)
6. Start wrapping again as in Step 3 but from needles 47 and 48 and so on until you get back to needle 48
7. Again put yarn back into feeder and do step 5 again remembering to stop at needle 46 on the second row of normal knitting.
8. Repeat step 6, and after that 5 & 6 over and over until you reach approx row 105 or the last pattern row you want for your project.
9. At needle one on row 105 (approx) insert yarn into feeder again and knit normal rows until you reach row 110
10. Assemble your double skinned hat as usual and add a pom pom if desired :)

This produces a slightly slouchy beanie with a brim which can be folded up. If you want a shorter beanie reduce rows as necessary.

Pattern rows may not be precise as I was just practising initially, and ended up with a nice result. I hope you do too, it's a pretty fleixible pattern I think, but watch for those dropped stitches in the plain knitted rows of Step 3 (might have been my yarn)
