Spindle Gouges - Form, use and sharpening - with Nick Agar - DICTUM tutorial video

Spindle gouges are used for shaping woodturning pieces along the grain. The spindle gouge is the right choice of tool for cutting grooves and fillets, but also transitions. They come in English and European styles, the bevels differing significantly between the two. In this video, internationally renowned master turner Nick Agar explains the different shapes and profiles of spindle gouges and shows how to sharpen the different bevels on double-wheeled grinders or on a Tormek.
