Ronnie Wood and Alice Cooper on The Who 'My Generation'

Ronnie Wood and Alice Cooper discuss the influence of The Who, with Alice suggesting 'My Generation' was the first Metal song ever recorded. The two compare 'My Generation' with Donnie Elbert's 'Little Piece Of Leather', both of which came out in 1965, with The Who's track sounding like nothing before it.

Ronnie reminisces about the first time he saw Pete Townsend, Keith Moon and the band perform live in West London, with the speaker stacks swaying dangerously, cymbals being thrown into the crowd, and knuckles bleeding from excessive guitar thrashing!

Alice also describes an unfortunate on-stage accident of his own involving a sword through his knee!

This clip is taken from The Ronnie Wood Show, an award-winning TV series first broadcast on Sky Arts. Every episode features top artists joining Ronnie for impromptu jamming, lively chat and reminiscing about the wild days of rock'n'roll.

Episode 1, Clip 5.
