Hiking to Talkin Fell | Fantastic views of Cumbria

I decided I fancied an adventure! I got the bus from Newcastle to Brampton, in Cumbria. I set off towards Talkin Tarn, it was a beautiful day. Clear skies, and the sun was beaming, it was about 23°C.

I sat around at Talkin Tarn and ate some food, then set off with no directions or map. I just fancied winging it! So I set along the country roads, I began getting blistered so I took my boots off and walked up in my socks 😅.

I barely saw anybody, no other walkers! I finally could see the rock cairns at the top of the Fell. I was now in the North Pennines! I walked up the last little hill, and there I was.

It was so hot, I admired the view and the clear skies. I was shocked to find I had the whole place to myself! The views were brilliant though, you could see the North of the Lake District, with Skiddaw and Blencathra poking out on the horizon, you can also see out to the see by Solway on Firth, Scotland in the North, folding hills to the South, and Whin Sill towards the West, where Sycamore Gap is.

I sat around for an hour and a half, chilled out, enjoyed the scenery then headed back down!
