Dakota Johnson, Mia Goth & Luca Guadagnino on the influences & magic of Suspiria

Scott Davis interviews Dakota Johnson & Mia Goth & Director Luca Guadagnino for the much anticipated remake of Dario Argento’s 1977 horror classic Suspiria. Directed by Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name, A Bigger Splash) the Italian-American horror film stars Fifty Shades’ Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Jessica Harper and Chloe Grace Mortez.

The remake also stars Doris Hick, Malgorzata Bela, Angela Winkler, Elena Fokina and Alek Wek.

They talk about the cover version of the celebrated film, and how the point of view has changed in this new interpretation with new imagery, the context of witchcraft in the 21st Century. Dakota Johnson talks about the trust she had on set, and how working with Guadagnino and 'female pillar' Tilda Swinton.

PLOT:
Set in Berlin 1977, the plot follows a young American dancer who enrolls at a prestigious dance academy plagued by unusual occurrences. A darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the artistic director, an ambitious young dancer, and a grieving psychotherapist. Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up.

Suspiria will be released on the 2nd of November in the US, and on the 16th of November in the UK.
