BIO
Diego Alonso has over 19 years of professional performance experience world-wide. He specializes in Classical, Flamenco, and Spanish/Latin-Jazz guitar. He has taught and coached over 10,000 one-on-one lessons and has given lectures and workshops in over 500 schools nationally and internationally. Diego has a Masters degree in Flamenco pedagogy, musicology & ethnomusicology ("flamencología") from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (Barcelona). He also graduated with highest honors in Flamenco Guitar Performance from the Fundación Cristina Herren de Arte Flamenco (Sevilla where he studied daily with Pedro Sierra, Niño de Pura, Paco Cortes, Eduardo Rebollar, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Tino Van Der Sman, Javi Gomes, and Pepa Sanchez. Diego Alonso also has a strong background in classical guitar and jazz theory and incorporates these genres into his playing, composing, and teaching. ​
