Why I Missed My Competition 😳 | Staph Infection Story

I wasn’t able to compete — and it wasn’t because I was injured. 😳

During practice, a small mistake led to staph on my face:

Rubbing my face on my sleeve

Skipping my usual hygiene routine after training

Having a weak immune system from the flu

Even though I felt fine, I had to sit out the competition to avoid spreading it to others.

💡 Lesson learned: always protect yourself and your teammates — hygiene matters in grappling, jiu-jitsu, and combat sports!
