Life on Bird Island

This World Albatross Day 2021 (19 June) we have an absolute treat from Alexandra Dodds! Alexandra has spent much of the last two years keeping an eye on the albatross population of Bird Island, South Georgia, in her role as Albatross Zoological Field Assistant as part of British Antarctic Survey long-term wildlife monitoring. In this video Alexandra shares clips of Bird Island wildlife and the experience of working year-round on the island. One of the world’s richest wildlife sites, Bird Island has large, diverse populations of seabirds and fur seals.

Happy World Albatross Day everyone!
