Teb describes what it means to be “connected” to the internet in terms of IP addresses and the physical infrastructure provided to us via our ISP. The Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DCHP) which helps distribute and manage IP addresses is briefly described. Teb also describes the difference between a public IP address and private/local IP addresses, as well as Network Address Translation (NAT) which is a process for translating data between public and private IP addresses.

Cisco has made a chapter of a networking textbook regarding the details of DHCP available for free (https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/prime/network_registrar/8-2/user/guide/CPNR_8_2_User_Guide/UG20_DHC.pdf)
Networking Lessons has a series on network routing and switching which includes a great lesson on DHCP if you’re willing to pay for a subscription (https://networklessons.com/cisco/ccie-routing-switching/introduction-to-dhcp/)
Mkdev has a great article that introduces a number of networking topics from this video and others in this series including network layers, DHCP, and NAT, and much more. The article also has more suggestions for further study (https://mkdev.me/en/posts/how-networks-work-what-is-a-switch-router-dns-dhcp-nat-vpn-and-a-dozen-of-other-useful-things)
