Designing Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing | Meet Boris Bourdoncle, Quandela

In this episode of Making Quantum Real, Boris Bourdoncle, Quantum Information Scientist and Team Lead of Quandela’s Scalable Architecture team, explains how his team designs fault-tolerant protocols for photonic quantum computing.

At Quandela, quantum error correction is not only a theoretical challenge: it directly informs our roadmap toward scalable quantum computers. Boris shares how the team works at the intersection of physics, computer science and mathematics to develop architectures based on semiconductor quantum dots and photons, and how collaboration, scientific rigor and open discussion help turn new research into concrete progress.

We are currently hiring a Senior Quantum Information Scientist – Quantum Error Correction to join our Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computing team.

This role is designed for researchers who want to contribute to the future of scalable quantum computing by working on QEC codes, fault-tolerant protocols, decoders and realistic hardware error models, in close collaboration with our experimental and engineering teams.
