Meade LX90 ACF 12" Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope

In this video I go over the set-up, use, and enjoyment, and pros and cons of a Meade LX90 12" Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope. I owned a Meade 4" Schmidt-Cassegrain years ago. It was the bottom of the barrel of their line of telescopes but it was all I could afford at the time. I always felt the image was dark compared to my 6" Dobsonian even accounting for the difference in aperture and never wanted to own a Schmidt-Cassegrain after that. I felt like they were inferior to Refractors and even to Dobsonians for the price. I decided to give the Schmidt-Cassegrain another chance now that I am no longer dirt poor and bought a top grade Meade 12" LX90 ACF Schmidt-Cassegrain. It's heavy but the optics are incredible and the performance is phenomenal. This is a fantastic telescope. I love my refractors (I own a few) and my Dobsonian but wow am I impressed with this telescope. Yes, it is pricey but if you can afford it, this is one heck of an instrument for both observing and photographing the night sky. It is very easy to set up and begin to use right away. I would strongly recommend buying the AC Adapter though because otherwise you have to use eight C Batteries.
