【~ものだ】
normally; in general, should; must

Verb (dictionary form)+ものだ/ものではない(じゃない)
Verb (ない form) +ものだ/ものではない(じゃない)
な-adjective+ものだ/ものではない(じゃない)
い-adjective+ものだ/ものではない(じゃない)

Used to express something that is considered to be common knowledge. Describe certain feelings toward naturally occuring phenomena, truths, etc
【1. It is considered to be "A" based on common sense and personal experience. (So you should do A.)】
一晩中寝ずに、仕事をしたら、疲れるものです。
If you work all night without sleeping, it is normal to become tired.
誰でも、陰で悪口を言われるのは嫌なものです。
Everyone does not want to be talked about behind one's back.
友達に嘘をつくものではありません。
You should not lie to your friends.
【2. "A" is out of our control. That is how the world works. We have no choice but to accept it.】
会社員は上司を尊重するものです。
Office workers must respect their boss.
携帯は5年も使えば壊れてしまうものです。
Mobile phones may malfunction after five years of use.
