Exploring Chikmagalur, Mullayanagiri | Places to visit in Chikmagalur | Chikmagalur tourist places
Last year we had been to Karnataka's highest peak on Kannada Rajyotsava! It was an extended weekend so time for a perfect bike trip. Being a hill station Chikmagalur is known for monsoon but it was equally good post monsoon. It was a 3 day trip. We left home around 6:30am and reached Chikmagalur by noon. We stayed in Tulasi Homestay which was budget friendly and close to most of the tourist attractions, they provide home made food which was very good. Post lunch we visited Mullayanagiri and also covered Seethalayyana Giri on the way. On the second day we headed out to Bababudan Giri range on our Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500. We also visited Datta Peetha and Manikyadhara falls. We couldn't cover Jhari Falls and Galikere due to traffic jam. In the evening we visited Hirekolale Lake and witnessed a beautiful sunset there. On the third day early morning we left back to Bengaluru and reached home by noon.

Chikmagalur is a hill station in Karnataka, a state in southwest India. To the north is Baba Budangiri, a mountain range in the Western Ghats, with 3 large caves said to be holy. Trails through forests and grasslands lead up to Mullayanagiri Peak. The cascading Hebbe Falls lie in an area of coffee plantations. The forested Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, northwest of Chikmagalur, is home to elephants, tigers and leopards.
