Customizing Pinterest | Set Account, Boards and Pins to Public or Secret (Updated)

Customizing privacy settings on Pinterest allows users to control who can see their account, boards, and pins by setting them to public or secret. To adjust these settings, start by logging into your Pinterest account and navigating to your profile. From there, click on the settings icon and go to "Privacy and Data." Under "Search Privacy," you can toggle on the option to hide your profile and boards from search engines, preventing them from appearing in Google or other search results, which enhances overall account privacy.

For board-level control, Pinterest offers the option to make boards secret. You can do this by selecting the board, clicking the edit button (pencil icon), and enabling the “Keep this board secret” toggle. Secret boards are only visible to you and any collaborators you invite, and their pins will not appear in search results or public feeds. New boards can also be created as secret during setup. Pins can be hidden individually by opening the pin, selecting the three-dot menu, and choosing “Hide Pin,” removing it from public view without deleting it.
