This digital mode gets better range than FM

A range test of digital (dPMR mode) vs analog (12.5 kHz FM) on the Kenwood PMR446 (or dPMR446 since they also have dPMR) radios. This radio is legal for use on PMR446 so only outputs 0.5 W of power. The range will probably be less than the 5 W radios you're used to if you operate licenced radios. The radio model used is Kenwood TK-3701d
