Using a Forge to Recreate a Coach / Carriage Bolt Head for my 1884 Horse Cart - First Attempt
Today I'm recreating a coach bolt head for my old horse cart restore project. I'm using blacksmith techniques as this is the way they were originally made. I cheat a bit by turning the thread diameter but this video is about forging the head. It doesn't come out exactly as planned but I think I'm on the right track, so stay tuned as I refine the process.
