The FMCSA Administrator, Derek Barrs, is passing up the usual corporate script to build something sustainable.

Instead of reading pre-prepared remarks and leaving, the focus is on interacting with the people who live the trucking industry every day. With two and a half years left before heading back to the Florida coast, the goal is to shift the culture so that FMCSA workers are proud of their impact, and the trucking industry knows that their feedback is actively being listened to.
