An External powered ESP32? Program or monitor it at the same time!
If you're into the Expressif ESP32 you've no doubt run into the issue of powering the unit and communication when your project is too resource intensive for USB power to be adequate or even advised. Here I look at alternatives and how I use external power and still have the USB cable connected for Debugging and/or communication. After all most projects need to go "Out in the wild" without the USB cable sooner or later. Yes, you can kill the ESP32 if you connect it again and again or disconnect it under load!
