Shay on display: Depot Park: Columbia Falls, MT Sept 2 2017 014

Often talked about but rarely seen is this Shay locomotive. I put a picture of it in my first book: Montana's Marias Pass, Early GN Mileposts and BNSF Guide (guide by Robert C. Del Grosso).

The coolest thing is that its bell still works! On a couple of occasions, BNSF engines roaring by will blast their horns if you are ringing the bell which can be clearly heard--it is LOUD!
