How to Turn Off End to End Encryption on Instagram | Adjust Instagram Privacy (Updated)

Currently, Instagram’s end-to-end encryption (E2EE) is an optional feature for chats, and you can control whether it’s enabled for your conversations. To turn off end-to-end encryption on Instagram, open the app and go to your DMs. Tap the chat you want to adjust, then tap the chat name or info icon at the top. If the chat is encrypted, you’ll see an option labeled “End-to-end encrypted.” Tap it, and select “Leave end-to-end encrypted chat” or “Switch to standard chat.” This will disable encryption for that conversation, returning it to regular messaging.

If you don’t see these options, it means E2EE isn’t enabled for that chat or your account hasn’t received the feature yet. Instagram is gradually rolling out encryption, so availability may vary.
