Watch Matt's Visit to Laika for THE BOXTROLLS

I'm a huge fan of Laika, and I was ecstatic when I got to visit their studio last month in Portland for the release of their latest animated film, The Boxtrolls. For those who haven't seen the film, it's about a young orphaned boy named Eggs (Isaac Hempstead Wright) who is raised by underground cave-dwelling trash collectors who he must save from evil exterminator Archibald Snatched (Ben Kingsley).

During my visit, I met with Laika CEO, producer and animator Travis Knight (click here for the full interview), Director of Rapid Prototyping Brian McLean and Visual Effects Supervisor Steve Emerson (click here for the full interview), Creative Supervisor of Puppet Fabrication Georgina Hayns, and Costume Designer Deborah Cook. They all had fascinating things to say about the movie, and this video shows some of the details that went into crafting The Boxtrolls.
