A History of the Persian Gulf Naming Dispute

In this video, I take a look at the history of the Persian Gulf naming dispute. I present historical evidence which proves that the correct name is the Persian Gulf and not the Arabian Gulf. In fact, the efforts by Arab nationalists to change the name from Persian Gulf to Arabian Gulf has been a recent phenomenon, as historically, Arab historians and travelers have always called it the Persian Gulf. That being said, anti-Persian sentiment amongst Arabs is not a recent phenomenon, and has actually, been the case historically. This was well understood by the last Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who was staunchly opposed to the Arab desire to change the name of the Persian Gulf. I have included a clip from one of his interviews, which corroborates his view on the matter. Thus, the Persian Gulf is the historic and true name of this body of water.
