Tollesbury Pier - Remote Abandoned Station
In this family friendly video we take a trip to one of the Uk's most remote abandoned railway stations. We aimed to see if there were any old railway relics and architecture left here. Its been eight months since we made a video in this playlist and we've been meaning to come to Tollesbury for some time.
Tollesbury Pier was built in 1907 as an extension to the Kelvedon, Tiptree and Tollesbury Branch line, GER. It was closed within 14 years of its opening in 1921. The extension of the line from Tollesbury to the site of Tollesbury Pier was a 1.75 miles.
We estimate that the walk we took was around the same distance, so this definitely qualifies as a remote abandoned station.
Our list of Remote abandoned stations are as follows:
1. Gorton - Scotland - 12k (Planned for Summer 2019).
2. Loch Skerrow - 6.5k
3. Riccarton Junction - 3k
4. Tollesbury pier - 1.4k
5. Linley Halt - 1.3k
6. King Tor - 1.3k
7. Rankinston - 1.1k - Planned for early 2019
8. Churn - 1.1k
9. Foss Cross - 0.9k
10. Pentir Rhiw - 0.9k
11. Ingra - 0.8k
