Lessons from Rita Levi-Montalcini

Rita Levi-Montalcini was kicked out of the university after Italy passed anti-Jewish laws in 1938. In 1986, she won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for the discovery of nerve growth factor.

Rita's dedication to her work surpassed all circumstances. When her family fled to Florence, Levi-Montalcini set up a laboratory in her bedroom in order to continue her research. In her later life, she established a fellowship program for young African women scientists. She passed away in 2012, at the age of 103. These are the lessons Rita Levi-Montalcini left behind.
