MOUNT & BLADE: WARBAND, THE GAME
The video game Mount & Blade: Warband is a sandbox action roleplaying game with strategic and tactical elements. It features real time up close combat that simulates medieval warfare in a fantasy world inspired by real world history's cultures. The player has the free choice to become an honourable knight, wicked mercenary, humble merchant, anarchic forest bandit, evil warlord, benevolent king or queen or loyal wife or husband - or anything in between.
This classic title is especially interesting for all who want to know about gaming culture and highlights in game development. It is one of the most modded titles and still has a very active modding scene.
Mount & Blade: Warband was developed by Turkish studio TaleWorlds Entertainment and published by Paradox Interactive in 2010.
The game's prequel is Mount & Blade II Bannerlord which was published in 2022. That title contains many more features and activities like those of the more shady sort, mercenary work, smithing, noble clans and - building a dynasty! Yes, that means marriage and children.

Prophecy of Pendor is one of the most popular mods for Mount & Blade Warband. It was released in 2017 and improves on nearly every aspect of the game, adds a storyline with light fantasy elements and numerous other features

My callsign is Hardball, PlayingHardball. I have always loved gaming. I am passionate about games as forms of art and ways of exploring narratives in interactive ways. I have been playing video games nearly all my life, on the internet for a few years now. I enjoy a great variety of games but generally lean towards games with a unique and engaging story (like Mass Effect, Disco Elysium, The Witcher, etc), strategy/tactical elements (like XCOM, Panzer Corps, Total War etc), and RPGs (like Cyberpunk 2077, newer Fallout titles etc) and especially CRPGs (like Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1 and 2 or Pathfinder etc). Of course, I am always looking for great indie games too!
