"Forever Marilyn" Statue unveiled in Palm Springs, CA

The "Forever Marilyn" statue was revealed in fabulous Palm Springs, CA on Thursday May 24,2012. Palm Springs was very lucky to get Marilyn, as many other great cities wanted her once her stay in Chicago was over. Palm Springs beat out Tokyo, Paris, and Madrid. In my opinion, PS is the perfect place for her as MM was said to be discovered her, and had a home in the desert. It was nice to see that the people really turned out to see her. Because the unveiling was done on a night that they close Palm Canyon done for a street fair, I started wondering if we were going to be able to find a parking spot. Marilyn + Street Fair = No Parking spots :( Alas! We found one, and we arrived just in the nick of time....Just as the count down began. Therefore, the footage on the unveiling is taken from the back side. Fun night! Welcome back Marilyn! Note: Sorry my video says, May 25, 2012....The video setting on my computer did that automatically....The real date is May 24th.
