First Test of Canon HV30

This is a re-encode of the fist shoot of my Canon Vixia HV30 Hdv camcorder. I encoded from HDV to MP4 and then uploaded it to YouTube. I am of the opinion that H.264 is too complex for YouTube to convert to Flash hence the use of the simpler Mp4 codec. The video was shot @ 9000ft on a cold 3F, sunny morning. 30f, standard HV30 with UV filter. Dog is Thabo the Siberian Husky, a big fan of snow and cold temperatures.

(Edited on MacBook Pro, 2.4 using Final Cut Pro and Compressor -) An advantage of using MP4 vs H.264 are greatly reduced encode times, this 4 minutes of footage took 17 mins to encode almost 4x, I have observed H.264 to take 10x to encode, that's a big difference.
