Series/ Parallel/ Split Humbucker Pickup Sounds
I put together this video using a PRS SE model guitar my brother Bob bought many years ago, when the SE line was pretty new. He purchased this guitar knowing it was a project guitar and was going to be altered,... A Lot!
I ordered a custom pickguard from Chandler industries, Pots and pickups came from a local Music Store, and mini toggles came from a near by electronics store. It actually took a couple years to get the project going, and a few more months to get it completed. I believe we were done 2003, maybe?
I've always liked the "one guitar that does it all" idea, but it's really hard to accomplish that. The controls can get ridiculous, and you end up with a lot of "close, but no cigar". A true Tele tone? No, not really. A true Strat tone? Nope. A true LP tone? Really? Nothing sounds like a Gibson but a Gibson...
All this is my opinion, but although it's not an exact tone of any one guitar, it's pretty close to a bunch, and it really only matters that you like a guitar, not that it's exactly anything; but what works for you.
I hope you enjoyed this video. Please like and subscribe so I know to keep making them.
(Yes I realized the typo misspelling parallel. There’s to many layers the way I edited the video to easily correct it). ;)
