Sorry for some shaky video. My younger son was able to hold and move the camera but it was not his favorite choice. I am glad to at least have some historical footage of this 120 year old tree with super nice lumber exposed. Yes, I would have loved to trade for this log, but where do you find an 18 foot long log to swap? How would you move it if you found something. Maybe another time.
Cutting white oak 18 foot log with Wood-Mizer LT35. Beginners learning and sharing. First time to move and set up Wood-mizer LT35. Decided to help a relative make some lumber for the barn roof and hay wagons. Nice to have farm equipment to move logs and easily handle everything. I know we should have hearing protection. Great outdoor hobby and even better to eventually use nice lumber.
We cut this beautiful 120 year old white oak log to make beams and floor boards for the hay wagon. May be the nicest wood for such a project. Hopefully I will get some videos of making the wagon later.
My friend decided to help his relative cut some lumber. We showed up at the site and saw over 30 logs, mostly pine, and now there are only about 8 logs remaining. A great test run for operating the Woodmizer at a remote site. May be the easiest arrangement, since it was at a farm.
The Wood-Mizer LT35 is a wonderful machine and helped us rescue logs from becoming firewood.
