Yellowstone National Park | Close Encounters With Bison

Close encounters with Bison are very common at Yellowstone National Park. In this video we share some of your close experiences with these amazing animals with you. Yellowstone is the only place in the United States where bison have lived continuously since prehistoric times. According to the National Parks service there are a little less than 5,000 bison in Yellowstone National Park. You can usually find them in the Hayden and Lamar valleys in Yellowstone. A male "bull" weighs around 2,000 lbs and the female "cow" weigh around 1,000 lbs. Average life spans are between 12 and 15 years. These massive animals can run up to 30 miles per hour. Yellowstone bison feed primarily on grasses, sedges, and other grass-like plants. Credit - Yellowstone National Park Service
