Duty to Pay

The plaintiff says he and the defendant broke up the day they signed a lease together. He claims she went ahead and moved in on her own, so he’s suing her for the security deposit. The defendant says her ex went nuts when they ran into her old boyfriend and backed out of the lease. She’s countersuing for half the first month’s rent.
