Tascam 34b won't play

My Tascam 34b reel to reel tape deck can rewind and fast forward, but cannot play. I learned after I posted this video that the capstan belt was broken. In fact, when I attempted to pick up the pieces of the belt in the case of the machine, I found that the rubber belt had turn to MUSH. Fortunately it was easy to clean up, and TEAC still sells new belts!
