Yooperlite Glowing Rocks! + Giveaway!
Just a walk on the beach scored me 8 beautiful Yoopers! These are syenite rocks with fluorescent sodalite inclusions, known as Yooperlites, named after the Upper Peninsula (U.P.) of Michigan where they were made popular. People from this region are known as Yoopers. These rocks are basically granite without much quartz in them. They glow under black light. These examples were found in Lake Michigan near Milwaukee. They are quite uncommon.
