DMC 3's mission 2 on DMD difficulty without upgrades (using Royal Guard style)

This isn't strictly "without upgrades" (there's a Stinger move added). However, mission 1 was started on DMD mode strictly without upgrades. Mission 2 was reached with orbs connected by playing mission 1 on DMD once and only upgrades that can be bought with those orbs were bought (Stinger). This is a category of Speedrunning called "NG" (New Game file). Contrast this with NG+ where you are allowed to start your play with max upgrades.
