With the roll out of the 'Mariyung' D set trains on the Central Coast and Newcastle Line (CCN) in full force, the retirement of the V sets from the CCN line was inevitable. On 27/06, the final V set to operate a service to Newcastle Interchange departed Central as run N191 with much fanfare. The honours were done by set V2 bringing this era of faithful V set service on the route to a close.
