Addressing the Sensemaking Crisis: The Consilience Project w/ Daniel Schmachtenberger @ Dent
"...This covers the theory and aims of the Consilience Project as well as overviewing what we are actually building and where current help is needed. If you're interested, this is a good introduction to the project. "What is Dent?
Dent is a community that recognizes the need to redesign the value systems, incentives, and social contracts underpinning modern society. By learning from one another, we build our collective ability to address humanity’s fundamental challenges.
Dent is a fast growing community that includes a diverse array of individuals — entrepreneurs, scholars, artists, activists, designers, investors, nonprofit leaders and more — brought together by shared desire to make sense of the current moment. We convene regularly in the Dent Forum to learn from one another and explore topics we want to better understand. An ongoing theme for us is economic reform. It’s clear capitalism is failing us; we want to formulate a point of view on how to improve it.
The state of democracy around the world is a related inquiry. We question what cultural norms need to change if we are to transition to an equitable, sustainable future. We ask how might the [recent global developments] present opportunities to accelerate the change we wish to see in the world.
Dent builds collective wisdom via shared learning. Through thoughtful civic discourse, we develop a shared vision for a more equitable, caring, regenerative future. In addition to establishing a common intellectual foundation, our convenings seek to inspire action and foster support for each other’s work."
