The first author in history was a woman. Her name was Enheduanna, and she was an ancient Sumerian princess in the city of Ur in what is now Iraq. Around 2300 BC, she wrote hymns to honor Inanna, the goddess of love and war, and they were written on tablets that have been preserved for thousands of years.
