If you want to get better at bass guitar, practice does not make perfect, planned practice makes perfect. This is the practice formula I use with students to be able to easily plan their practice time in order to get the best results.

3 minutes: Stretching
7 minutes: Warm-up
10 minutes: Technical
10 minutes: play a song

By planning your practice you will not only learn the skills you want to learn but also have fun and never get that "stuck in a rut" feeling.
