Giving our Tortoise's a bath. Cleaning your Horsefield Tortoises.

Your Tortoises will appreciate the occasional bathe. I do so once a month in the summer & less in the winter if I don't hibernate them. Named by my daughter, these two are Horsefield Tortoise's called 'Taco' & 'Tortilla' that we took in at the beginning of summer. I recommend that you do not hibernate tortoises for their first year of ownership so you can monitor their diet & health.
I keep them in outside enclosures which is the best thing for them due to natural UV light but ensure they have a shaded area as their house can become hot in direct sunlight.
When the outside temperature starts to fall below 15c at night I move them into inside enclosures.
Please remember that some Tortoises dont like to live with other, males especially so please check your specie. I always keep them solitary to save accidents or incidents.
