Hello, my name is Sarah. I am 37 and had the gastric sleeve surgery back in June. The decision to have surgery took a long time to reach. I was suffering from type 2 diabetes, had high blood pressure, high cholesterol. So it just kind of came to the point where this was the best option for me.

The surgery was really simple. I think I was in and out of the hospital in under five hours, which was really great. The recovery time was about two weeks--that I took off of work.

I have made all the goals that I have set for myself. I don't have to take my blood pressure medicine anymore. I am off of all my type 2 diabetes medicine.

I have more energy. I was able to do some things that I never thought I would do, like make it through Disneyland for two days and ride the rides.

I don't have to worry about getting on the plane, which was the biggest thing, because that was always a big fear, so it has been a wonderful experience so far.

I am excited to see what else happens in the future and I know it's been great. I am very thankful for everything that everyone has done for me.
