Hundreds of Chinese companies that pose threats to national security and violate human rights have entered the U.S. capitol market. Will the U.S. pass legislature to stop that? The Trump administration is asking for structural changes in US-China trade relations, will the Communist Party agree to it? And most important of all, will the U.S. have a trade deal with China in the end?

Right before the Trump Xi summit, Zooming In host interviewed General Robert Spalding (@robert_spalding). He has served in senior positions of strategy and diplomacy within the Defense and State Departments for more than 26 years. He has also spent years in China and learned the Chinese language. Simone asked him what's really at stake in the U.S. China trade war.
