Installing Septic Tank Risers - DIY!

When the buried septic tank covers were exposed for inspection, as was required by our mortgage lender for purchasing this house, I asked the seller to leave the tanks uncovered so that I could have risers installed. This would make it easier for inspecting the septic tanks every three years and for pumping them out, when necessary. After consulting with a couple of sanitary system plumbers, I was informed on how risers are installed and told that it was a relatively simple do-it-yourself (DIY) project for an able-bodied homeowner. Given the increasing number of purchases of existing home on the Olympic Peninsula by retirees, and many homes having older septic systems with buried tanks, I decided to record this short DIY video. My wife, Diane, agreed to video record me as I worked on this project, at times dodging flying concrete chips and enduring the pungent odors from the open septic tanks! Diane, you did an outstanding job!
