Spektrum DX5C DX6C STUCK Power Button How To "Fix / Repair" - Eliminate Remove The On/Off Button

If your Spektrum transmitter has a stuck or stubborn power button that remains pushed into place and randomly turns on or off your controller, the easiest solution is to eliminate (remove) the button entirely.

I carefully carved around the button to remove material and open the hole. Then I pried out the button entirely and shook out the pieces.

The last step is to slowly and gently widen the hole by scraping away plastic from the edges of the opening until you have easy access to the on / off (power) button with your index finger.

Now I don't have to worry about my DX5C turning on in my track bag or showing up at the race track with dead AA batteries. The downsides are that it looks terrible and you shouldn't race or bash outdoors when it's raining. I guess you could place a piece of electrical tape over the hole to make the transmitter water resistant.
