🗺️ Why Beşiktaş?

Most first-time visitors to Istanbul stick to the usual tourist circuit — Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace, the Grand Bazaar. And look, those places are incredible. But if you really want to feel Istanbul, you have to get into the neighborhoods.

Beşiktaş sits right on the European side of Istanbul, along the Bosphorus. It's lively, local, and completely unpretentious. The market area is walkable, affordable, and packed with character. It's the kind of place where a tea costs almost nothing and a conversation costs even less.

💡 A few things worth knowing before you go:

The market is most alive in the early morning, especially on weekdays
It's completely safe and tourist-friendly, but feels nothing like a tourist area
From here, you can easily walk to the Bosphorus waterfront for one of the best views in the city
It's a short bus ride from Sultanahmet and Taksim
