One of the common challenges in job applications is managing file upload limits. Many applicants are unaware of how to keep their documents within a certain size limit. Here are some tips to help you reduce the size of your documents, especially when including scanned certificates.

When you scan or take a photo of your certificates, they are often saved in a large file format like PNG. These files are also dimensionally large at 100% view.

Open the scanned image or photo on your computer using Microsoft Paint.

Save the image as a JPEG file to significantly reduce its size.

Resize Dimensions: Resize the image to just fit your computer screen at 100% view.

Copy the resized image and paste it into your Word document. Use short cuts of CTRL + A and CTRL + C on your key board to select and copy the image.

Adjust the margins to make the document look professional.

Finally, save the document as a PDF. This format is preferred by most employers and also helps protect your document.
