🎵 THIS is the BEST 'Ubi Caritas' for organ I've EVER HEARD!!! | @AlejandroConsolacionII

Just occasionally I come across a golden jewel of new and unknown organ music of really high quality which I believe should be in all organists' repertoire.

Organ Rhapsody on 'Ubi caritas' by @AlejandroConsolacionII is one of those golden jewels.

One of the delights of 'Call for Composers' is that it allows us, as organists, to become acquainted with new organ music and it was for Call for Composers 2 that AJ Consolacion submitted his Organ Rhapsody on 'Ubi Caritas' (it is also known as Meditation on Ubi caritas).

The harmonic language is simple yet engaging, its melodic lines are beautifully formed and the pieces at an incredible climax towards the end before ending in the same serene way it started.

You'll be able to purchase this version in a forthcoming volume of the majority of submissions for Call for Composers 1 & 2 - stay tuned for more details.

I confess that I haven't heard all organ pieces based on 'Ubi caritas', but out of all the ones I've heard - this is the finest. Please let me know in the comments which other pieces based on this famous plainchant there are.
