Ghostly Jacket Incursion (PRT. 1)

Here’s the third installment in my Ghostly Jacket series of horror films, which I’ve been working on for over a year-and-a-half now (January 2022). Most definitely, my most ambitious Ghostly Jacket film to date. This marks the final film in the original Ghostly Jacket trilogy for which you’ll eventually see, when taking this all in — but that doesn’t mean, I have any further ideas to expand on the mythology.

Some production notes:
Taking into mind the trials and tribulations of the second film (Ghostly Jacket Returns), I've opted to use the same approaches for here, such as up-cycling numerous stock footage from previous films and shooting the less essential parts of the story and special effects. I did write a few script pages for the film's general plot line (particularly sequences set in the biosphere), but I kept them short, so they wouldn't be too difficult to shoot. Aside from that, it was still tricky, largely because the actors I initially tried to contact were not replying to my emails, so I had to make alterations to accommodate for the potential shooting day. I originally intended to rely on three to four actors for the shoot, but realized it wouldn't be feasible and changed my plans to shoot with only one or two actors at a time and then stitch the scenes together in post production. I even reached out to a female classmate for potential actors, who had an interest in acting, and while she did respond to me about how she was able to get a couple of her classmates interested, she didn't offer me the names of those, owing to the fact that they were unavailable for the original December shooting date.

Finally close to summertime, I decided it would be best to post another ad for the film I was working on, but have the shoot done virtually (where the actors would simply shoot the scenes from their phones and then send me the clips) — something I considered for my friend, Scott Needle, while we were working on the previous film, but didn't pursue. This worked in my benefit instead of having to wait and hire actors to shoot while I can. It may be half-assed, but it's a far better capstone than Ghostly Jacket Returns' example.

I did have other actors in mind for specific scenes, but since I couldn’t reach out via email as stated above, I just simply resorted to using stock footage — which worked fine, since I wouldn’t have to go through with signing release forms and just resort to using what I have. Hopefully when using Backstage for hiring actors, that’ll be the end of all that BS.

Now, when comparing this to the last two films, this one has much better scope as well as greater emphasis on the characters and special effects. Do expect it to be more slow-burn, since this is a four-part short film, but the end result is worth it! Enjoy!

P.S, I don’t own any of the music.
