Amateur Off-Roading for Beginners | 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Review
It's Mojito! week here on TestDrive! We're looking at the action-packed 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon to see what off-roading is like when you aren't a pro.
PRN T-Shirts now available! Check out our original designs here: https://teespring.com/stores/prn
Our review of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is a little different from our usual episodes of TestDrive Spotlight. This time around we're talking about the car communities and the culture behind them that can make or break an experience for new enthusiasts, and what we can do about it. We discuss some of the limitations and difficulties novice enthusiasts face when joining a new community, and some ideas on how we can all make the experience better for everyone.
We also go over the Rubicon's load out and everything that makes it one of the most competent off-roaders you can buy. Base MSRP for this two-door JL Wrangler is $49,645.00 Canadian, with quite a lot of options and packages available to configure your Jeep just the way you want it. Ours comes in the Mojito! paint job, black leather Rubicon interior, cold weather package, both enhanced safety packages, steel bumpers, Trail Rated® package, outside white lettering on the off-road tires, the LED lighting package, black freedom top roof, and much more.
After our walk-around on this vehicle we hop in to take the 3.6L Pentastar V6 with eTorque and 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission on some off-road trails to see how the Rubicon handles itself on rough terrain. We test the vehicle on a well worn & beaten trail with obstacles, mud, and grade changes, followed up by a simpler unimproved road with rocks and dirt to deal with.
We wrap up our review on the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4x4 by going over our final thoughts on this vehicle including some of the options we'd configure, and our hopes for the future of new car enthusiasts who want to get involved in the community, whether it be for off-roading or general groups online.
